Germany is the most important European trading partner of Iran

Trading volumes grew by 6 percent last year.

Figures from the Federal Statistical Office show that in 2020, the volume of trade between Iran and Germany increased by 6 percent to 1823.2 million euros. Germany exported goods worth 1549 million euros to Iran from January to December 2020, an increase of 2 percent compared to 2019. Iran had exports worth 274.2 million euros to Germany during this period, an increase of 32 percent year-on-year. For Germany, Iran is ranked 68th out of 100 of the most important of the most important trading partners. Germany is also Iran's largest trading partner in the EU.

The most important German export to Iran in 2020 was mechanical engineering products and electronic products worth 555 million euros. Iran exported edible fruits worth 123.57 million euros to Germany last year, accounting for 45 percent of the country's total exports to Germany.

The trade volume of the two countries amounted to 199.6 million euros in December 2020, an increase of 8.5 percent compared to last year. German exports peaked at 178 million euros in December 2020, growing by 6 percent compared to the same month last year. Iran exported 21.6 million euros to Germany this month, up 38 percent compared to the same month last year (15.7 million euros).
